The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh presented the prestigious SCOPE Award to M.M. Bhardwaj, Managing Director, REIL, in a ceremony held on Thursday, 15.10.2009 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. REIL has been nominated for the Award for the year 2006-07 in "Smaller Public Sector Enterprises" Category.

Acknowledging commendable efforts made by REIL in evolving stratagem and salutary focus on rural development, SCOPE presented a Trophy and Certificate to confer "Scope Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management".
